Meet Dr. Lindsey Merchant
Dr. Merchant completed her Bachelor of Science degree in biology at Southwestern University where she was a member of the Alpha Chi National Society and TriBeta Biological Honor Society. Afterwards, she went on to earn her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Baylor College of Dentistry, graduating in 2010. During dental school, she was part of the Omicron Kappa Epsilon Honor Society and was selected as one of five students to be part of the Baylor Honor Program. She also participated in dental mission trips to Mexico, Guatemala, and Nicaragua.
Dr. Merchant completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency at Barksdale Air Force Base in Bossier City, Louisiana. While there, she expanded her knowledge in complex treatment planning, sedation dentistry, full mouth reconstructions, dental implants, and advanced surgical techniques. Devoted to keeping up with the latest advancements in the dental industry, Dr. Merchant maintains active memberships in many dental organizations. She is a proud Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD). Only about 6% of general dentists achieve this award, so you can ensure your smile is in caring and qualified hands. Dr. Merchant continues to give back by participating in both international and local dental mission trips. Dr. Merchant has served in the Air Force for over 13 years and is currently a Major in the U.S. Air Force Reserves. She continues to serve our country by providing dental exams to deploying troops at Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base in Ft. Worth.
Known for her big heart and caring nature, Dr. Merchant truly enjoys helping people overcome any fear or anxiety they have about the dentist. She takes the time to understand their concerns in order to tailor their treatment plan for a stress-free experience. Her oldest daughter is special needs, and she truly enjoys working with and treating special needs patients.
When she’s not helping her community attain their best smiles, Dr. Merchant enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, working out, and studying new techniques in dentistry.

Meet Dr. Emily Danahy
Dr. Danahy completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Nutritional Sciences at Texas A&M University where she was a member of Gamma Sigma Delta Honor Society and received the Senior Merit Award, the highest recognition given by the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. She then went on to earn her Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree at Texas A&M College of Dentistry (formally Baylor College of Dentistry). During dental school, she was a member of Odontologic Dental Society and Omicron Kappa Epsilon Honor Society. At graduation, she received the General Dentistry Program Award which represents excellence in all areas of general dentistry.
She also participated in dental mission trips to Panama and Jamaica with Global Dental Brigades and Christian Medical and Dental Association. She truly believes in giving to the community and providing healthcare for those with little access. Dr. Danahy likes to remain involved in the dental community as well and is active in many organizations. She is currently studying to earn a Fellowship Award in the Academy of General Dentistry.
Dr. Danahy believes in the importance of communication and takes the time her patients need to feel comfortable and understand their treatment. Outside of dentistry, Dr. Danahy enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and learning about new things!

Alysha – Practice Coordinator
Alysha has been in the dental field for 12 years, starting as a dental assistant. During these years, she took pride in learning every aspect of a dental office. She is passionate about dentistry because it allows her to see the positive impact of a healthy, beautiful smile on patients’ lives. Alysha likes to spend time with her two kids, Brylie and Brysen, play outside with three dogs, gardening, and traveling to new places.
Melissa – Front Desk
Melissa enjoys interacting with patients and seeing the positive impact that a healthy, beautiful smile brings to their lives. Melissa has been married to her husband, Roy, for 32 years, and they have five wonderful children. When Melissa is not at the office, she enjoys being outdoors, spending time with her family, and taking care of her animals on the farm.
Mandy – Dental Hygienist
Mandy has been a dental hygienist for over 15 years. Her love of dentistry began as a child while she assisted her father in his own dental practice. Mandy chose to be a hygienist to connect with and care for patients. She loves helping patients look and feel their best with their oral care. Mandy was born and raised in Colorado but has lived in Forney for the last six years. She and her husband Andrew have four sons and love being a part of the Forney community. Mandy loves to travel, play soccer, socialize, and do anything crafty when not in the office.
Elizabeth – Dental Hygienist
Elizabeth has been part of our office going on one year. She is from Dallas and currently lives here in Forney. She served four years of active duty in the United States Air Force, completing a seven-month tour to the middle east. She finished up her eight-year enlistment as a dental tech at the Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base in Fort Worth along with Dr. Merchant. She became a dental hygienist because she loves seeing how having a bright smile can boost a person’s self-esteem. Elizabeth has two sweet girls, Eleena and Emila, two fur babies, and has been married to her husband Roberto for seven years. She enjoys spending family time outdoors, attending sports games, and hiking any time she gets to visit new places in her spare time. Zion and Saguaro National Parks are two of her favorite national parks so far.
Mellany – Dental Hygienist
Mellany graduated from Tarrant County College with her degree in Dental Hygiene in 2014. She enjoys working in dentistry and teaching patients about oral health. She has had the opportunity to treat patients in different areas of the country, and she is glad to be back in Texas. When she’s not in the office, she enjoys playing the piano, trying new recipes, and spending time with her family.
Yajayra – Dental Assistant
Yajayra has been in the dental field going on four years. She enjoys making patients feel safe and relaxed during their dental visits. Yajayra has obtained experience in a pediatric office and makes sure our young patients enjoy coming to the dentist. In her free time, Yajayra enjoys going to the dog park, trying new food spots, and concerts.
Samantha – Dental Assistant
Samantha has been in the dental field for 3 years. She is experienced with periodontal dentistry and enjoys seeing the start to finish of clean teeth. Samantha loves seeing patients leave with a great big smile on their faces. In her free time, Samantha enjoys spending time with friends and shopping for new makeup products.
